Boo Hoo…

Headed out Wed…and surprise, surprise, no Arnold – not even Lt. Gov.  Sad!!  It was hot and the audio was not good for a couple of speakers…so it was nice that it only lasted about 15 minutes….much longer would have been torture.  the first speaker was good and the exec dir mcsorely seemed sincere….but after that, they should have just cut to the cutting!!  so the “expressway” was the new term of the day…is now open…hooray!!  Really glad I went tuesday, that was certianly the best day of the two.  Until the next issue…I’m signing off of this effort.

Fun Day on The Highway Today

Okay folks one day to go to official ribbon cutting.  The celebration on the hwy today was fun, great to see so many of you out there.  I hope they put the photo up on the website or something, would like to see how we turned out.  Here’s hoping the govenor makes it out tomorrow.  thanks for all your support and checking in on this blog.

Rumor has it ..The Govenor is coming to Angels

Good work to all who have emailed or called….rumor around town is that the gov will be visiting Angels for the ribbon cutting….keeping calling and sending emails…anything can change…who knows maybe the y’ll figure out the budget on the same day and he won’t make it

Celebration Planned for July 21 and July 22

Ride Highway 4 Mr. Gov!!

The city has just posted a press release with some news of the opening.  looks like there will be a pre-event on the 21st which sounds like a lot of fun.   Then if we do our job, hopefully our Gov will be here on the 22nd to cut the ribbon.  Click here to read the news..

The aerial photo sounds fun…I will be out to celebrate on the 21st – hope you will too.  In the meantime, please contact the gov.  I think he should come ride his motorcylce up Hwy 4 like the thousands of bikers that love it up here.  Click on the links above to email or call his office and tell him to bring out the bike!!    We may be small, but the City of Angels Camp is doing great.  ..let’s keep it that way!!

The New Highway 4

Welcome to my page.  I built this site because I love the town of Angels Camp and think it’s time we had some recognition for what a great area we are.  I love this place because we are lucky to have so many fun things to do and its a safe environment for our kids.  And now we have something big happening here with the new bypass.  It will be completed soon and as much as we all  like to complain about CalTrans when we are being held up by the “STOP” and “SLOW” signs along the highway…the reality is they did a great job on this project.  This byway was done ahead of schedule and below budget….when does that ever happen?  For more info on the bypass….click here to go to the CalTrans Site.

 You’ll learn from the links  (click here for  the Q&A) that this bypass was partially funded by Proposition 1B and it is the first 1B project to be completed in the entire state!!  With all the mess going on in Sacramento right now, this is something that the Gov. should be proud of.  My old friend John Garamendi came out for the ground breaking of this project, now i’d like to see our Govenor come out and celebrate the completion.
